Get to know Mark

Mark is a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Nurse with extensive experience in providing specialized care to individuals with complex mental health conditions and developmental disorders. He received his nursing degree from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) and has since dedicated his career to improving the lives of those battling mental illness and intellectual disabilities. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Challenging Behaviour for Adults and Children with ID which he received from Athlone Institute Technology, Ireland.

Mark has worked in acute hospital units, residential facilities, and community settings, which has provided him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in treating and managing mental health and developmental disorders. As a Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Nurse, Mark has a keen ability to assess patients and develop individualized care plans and provide counselling and support to patients and their families. He is skilled in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, which allows him to provide patients with the care they need during times of acute distress.

Mark is compassionate and non-judgmental in his approach to patient care. He recognizes the unique challenges that individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities face and work tirelessly to ensure that every patient is treated with the dignity, respect, and empathy they deserve. He has an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of people with mental illness and intellectual disabilities.

Get to know Melissa

Melissa is an experienced Registered Mental Health nurse with over two decades of working across diverse roles in Mental Health. She has established her career by developing expertise in all areas of Mental Health, with a particular passion for Community Mental Health. Melissa is dedicated to developing strong relationships with consumers, prioritising Consumer-centred care, and collaboratively working with them to identify Recovery goals and community pathways.


As a Clinical Nurse Consultant on the Mental Health Acute Care Team, Melissa has been recognised for her outstanding contributions in Mental Health Services, receiving the prestigious Mental Health Service Awards and Outstanding Teamwork Award in 2021. Her commitment to excellence in patient care and teamwork has made her an asset to the Mental Health community, and she continues to strive for excellence in all her endeavours.

Get to know Ross

Ross has over 30 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse across a wide variety of settings. After spending the first fifteen years of his career working in Emergency Departments, Ross has dedicated his time since then working to the field of Mental Health. During this time, he has been a leader in the care and management of people with acute needs in a high-care setting. He has frequently stepped up to work in management roles across the services when required showing his commitment to improving the care and support for patients.

Ross’s contributions to the development and support of newly qualified staff in Mental Health have shown his commitment to long-term support for the Mental Health population. His expertise in managing persons with acute needs, often as a result of the use of drugs and alcohol, has led him to become acknowledged within local services as a leader in Mental Health care.

Get to know Allan

Allan is a registered nurse with nearly 30 years of experience with nearly 20 years as a mental health nurse. He has worked in a plethora of specialist fields in nursing throughout his career in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Throughout his career he has worked in Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, along with Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Palliative care. Since working in Mental Health Allan has held the role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, while also acting in various management positions including Quality Manager, Patient Flow, and now as full time Nurse Unit Manager.

Allan is passionate about helping individuals with mental illness improve their quality of life and has a particular interest in working with patients with co-morbid health needs. He has a clear understanding of the physical health issues related to mental health and is passionate about improving the quality of life for this population. He consistently leads by example in the delivery of care acting as an advocate for the well-being of the Mental Health population.
